Working with Skillabus.
Over the summer I met up with Stuart Owen from FDSHarrogate (FDS = Football De Salao , the original Brazilian Indoor Football game). I worked for Stuart a while ago when he ran it as Brazilian Soccer Schools (as always I find it hard to sit and watch my kids do things!) and he spoke to me about a project he has been working on for schools or other organisations, namely Skillabus.
I was interested as it was aimed at getting a wide base of skills into children at an early age following the LTAD model which sets out a framework for developing athletes from early years onwards.
The Skillabus scheme gives a nice progressive framework for developing a range of skills in various sports, taking children from quite basic but transferable skills to specific skills for different sports as they progress.
This is on offer to schools, sports clubs, beaver and cub groups etc. as well as individuals who wish to see their child develop. Do get in touch if you would like more information and I can put you in touch with Stuart.
